Tip Of The Day: Go to the MN State Fair on Tuesday, August 26th at 9 a.m.-ish. If you read on, I’ll tell you why. Also? I must share with you my new favorite multi-tasking product. It slices! It dices! It cuts through this tin can, and then this tomato! Okay, no, not really. It isn’t a Ginzu – but it still is fabulous.
Tip For Tomorrow: If you are sick to death of running around all over town for your children’s back to school crapola, and need a little “Just Me” shopping time, I’ll show you where to spend it this fall. You get great clothes, the kids get a happier parent, and no one gets hurt, including your checking account.
Further Elucidation Of My Cheap Deal: If you’ve been by before, you’ve heard me natter on endlessly about my weekly segments on Fox 9 News at 5 and The Cooper Lawrence Show. Probably because I’m a love-starved attention whore. Hey, everyone has character flaws, people.
However, all my hard work and perseverance with the TV gig and the radio gig has finally paid off. I’m moving up to the big leagues – if only for about 15-25 minutes. Are you ready for this?
I get to broadcast LIVE from the MN State Fair on Tuesday. Yay! It’s the realization of a childhood dream! Yes, I understand that my dreams are odd and require an audience. But you figured out by now that I’m a performing monkey, right?
Next Tuesday, I’ll be appearing (or speaking, or rather, BOTH) on the Kevyn Burger Show on FM 107. You can either listen to me on the radio, or BETTER YET. Come down to the Fair and watch the show. Then we can go and get some cheese curds afterwards and look at the butter sculptures. Ooooo, and go on the rides at the Midway! That’s my favorite thing.
I’m on at around 9-ish in the morning, so your best bet is to just tune in to FM 107 all day, so as not to miss anything important. Like ME!!!! Sorry. Stopping now, promise.
Anyway, on to the product review. Have you heard about those body care multi-taskers (and why does that sound naughty to me? Moving on.)? The ones that are a shampoo, body wash, and bubble bath in one? I can neither confirm nor deny that they work as well as they promise. But I HAVE discovered a multi-tasking body care product that:
1. Gently cleans the sensitive skin on my face.
2. Gently cleans the sensitive skin on my other, unmentionable body parts.
3. Gently washes my color-treated hair without turning it funky colors.
4. Treats the stains on my clothes that need to be – you guessed it – treated gently.
In a word, it’s gentle, folks. What is it? Baby shampoo – the Johnson and Johnson variety. Actually, it’s the Target store-brand version of the J&J brand, available for just $1.22 for a normal-sized bottle. Best of all, it smells like, well, a baby. Kind of non-scent-y and sweet, but really clean all at once.
I may never have to buy another soap product again. Of course, I WILL, because I’m a product junkie (along with being an attention whore… perhaps I need help?) and I love to try new, under $20 stuff. But as long as I have a bottle of Target-brand Baby Shampoo on hand, I’ll never have to worry about running out of soap, shampoo, or stain remover again. And THAT, my friends, is a comforting feeling in these times of unrest.

So sorry to be a downer here, but I won't even use that product on my baby… I guess you missed all the news stories awhile back that talked about it having cancer-causing agents in it? I'm sure it's still flying off the shelves at Target and I'm in the minority, but I have sworn off the stuff – even though it smells so darn good.

I still use Ivory soap, but then I'm a purist that way. A 99.99% purist…. heh.
Hey, your new place looks beautiful! Thanks for the soap tip. I love the smell of baby shampoo.
Hey, if it does all that maybe it's worth the potential cancer?
I used baby shampoo my babyhood and am still alive and kicking. Here's hoping.
