So I'm sitting here in my Big Brother's office, working on my Fox 9 segments for Monday while the rest of the family is out walking Piglet, when this sickening piece of news came to my attention:
Walmart Store Clerk Trampled To Death By Unruly Shoppers.
Seriously. 200 maniacal bargain hunters broke down the doors at a Walmart in Long Island, NY, killing a clerk who got in their way, and possibly causing a pregnant woman to miscarry. No, I'm not making this up, although I really wish I was.
Now, I try REALLY hard not to get up on my high horse at Cheap But Not Easy, but COME ON people. This is insane. I understand that the economy is bad, but is it worth killing a man just to get a good deal on a Wii? What happened to the holidays being about family, and fellowship, and you know, GOD and stuff? I'm not uber-religious, but I still know that killing someone, for any reason (particularly in the hunt for bargain pricing) is RIGHT OUT.
When I gave my tips for surviving Black Friday, I didn't realize I had to include stuff like "wear full-body armor," and "try not to kill/maim/de-pregnate anyone." Happy frickin' Thanksgiving, indeed. I guess this year I'm most thankful I didn't get killed in the line of cheap and fabulous duty.
Sorry to be such a bummer, but HONESTLY. What does one do with information like this, besides rant at the world?

On a happier note… I tried some WineHaven wine this weekend. The Honey stuff is YUM-O
Absolutely sickening and horrifying. There was also a shooting this morning in a crowded Toys R Us in CA.
That's just silly. When I'm dragged along, my spin class got cancelled last year and this year they waited until I was done volunteering at church, it's my job to stand and hold our place in line. I will never trample someone to get inside. I usually am moseying in at the slowest possible pace.
