Let’s see what these hot, hot baseball players, like Joe Mauer (above) have to say about my spending habits for last week. We begin with the recap:
Sunday, May 30
Nothing. My Ma fed me dinner, and I avoided any and all retailers.
Monday, June 1
St. Croix Vineyards, La Crescent White Table Wine, $11.32 (The manager would have given it to me for free – we were shooting a segment out there – but my photographer and I like to pay our own way.)
Cub Foods, nori seaweed and a Totino’s Party Pizza, $4.59
Tuesday, June 2
Walgreens, toilet paper, $3.09
Target, fabric softener and stationery, $6.69
Taco Bell, two burritos, $2.65 (God, I’ve been eating like crap lately.)
Joe thinks I buy weird combinations of things, but Derek Jeter finds my expenditures eclectic and delightful.
Wednesday, June 3
Random gas station, fuel for La Honda, $20.00 (yes, $20 exact. Woot!)
Walgreens, trash magazine, toiletries and the Sally Hershberger stuff I wrote about, $19.81
Thursday, June 4
Gas station, two more magazines and don’t judge me, $7.44
Friday/Saturday June 5/6
Nothing. Woot again! Granted, it’s because I was a total homebody and avoided all contact with stores/activities/people, but still. Three whole days of no spending in one week! Yay my team!
Look – even Evan Longoria is rounding the bases with joy about my uber-thrifty week. And if not-the-wife-of-Tony-Parker-and-star-of-Desperate-Housewives-but-WOW-is-the-name-similar is happy, I’m happy.
Total For The Week: $75 on the nose. My only complaint? I’ve seemed to have replaced my Target habit with Walgreens. I still need to get on the “make a list and check it twice” track for my weekly big box store visits.
Also, this week is bound to be much spendier as I’m going out of town with the Posse to a Ren Fest in Duluth. Between the food, the shopping, and the hotel, it’s bound to cost me more than $75. Ouch.

Festiness is expensive. But, it's an interesting hobby, which counts for something. And, you always have THE best costumes … so there's that bonus.
Last week I discovered the Scrubbing Bubbles brand toilet cleaner gel stuff that I am madly in love with (because with all these guys in my house, I can use all the help I can get). Sadly, that's the most interesting purchase I made! (and worth the whole $4 or whatever I spent on it… it's the toilet gift that keeps giving for a month!)
Have fun in Twig for us. We can't go this year. Her highness is in a parade on Saturday!
Great job not spending this week!
But we will have a wonderful time, and that is really all that matters.
Well, that and the hotel mini-bar, if you want to get technical.
