Tip Of Day: Apparently, being ill precludes you from spending a ton of money. Who knew? I didn’t, until I looked at my spending for last week – aka The Week I Felt Like Death Warmed Over. As long as you don’t need expensive meds or a hospital stay, sickness equals thriftiness.
Tip For Tomorrow: You know what I haven’t written about in awhile? Underwear. Tune in tomorrow as I remedy that problem, whilst providing you the lowdown on my new favorite cheap n’ cute undies. Available where else but at Target.
Further Elucidation Of My Cheap Deal: When I’m sick, the thought of trying to get up, get dressed, get presentable, and get to a store is just too much for me. Therefore, I end up staying home, making do with whatever groceries I have lying around and whatever meds I have on hand. Benedryl for a cold? Why not? Advil for all my aches and pains? Sure thing. As long as I have hot tea and Emergen-C, there is no need for me to venture outside and spend money.

Wednesday, September 23
Target, Stephen King paperback and a magazine since I felt well enough to read, $15.50
Taco Bell, dinner because my goddaughter accidentally threw mine away, $3.19
Thursday, September 24
Target (again, yes I know), massive grocery trip as I was finally out of food, $39.29
Friday, September 25
Exxon, gas for Le Honda, $20.01
Kowalski’s Market, greeting cards, $10.72
Cub Foods, post-teaching-all-day munchies trip, $4.47
Saturday, September 26
Nothing again! That makes three days last week! Yay me! Yay nasty cold!
Total For The Week: $109.23. Very good, however this week will not quite as nice. I’ll have two days worth of Ren Festing in next week’s recap, not to mention I’m on the mend and back in the stores. Ah well, this sick/savings streak couldn’t last forever…
Everyone knows when they’re sick, they’re supposed to rest, drink plenty of fluids and stay warm. A great way to warm up when it’s cold outside (like it is today in the TC) is to look at something hot. And what’s hotter than a hot guy? Such as this hot guy:
Clive Owens. Mmmm… pretty. I loved him in that one shoot-em-up movie, and then that other shoot-em-up movie, and also this movie:
King Arthur, where he appears sweaty and in costume – the way I like my hot men to look. He’s also surrounded by other hot, sweaty, costumed men, thus making it one of my favorite movies of all time.

Being sick is also a great way to lose weight, though not a sustainable one.
A good result from a bad thing … but not one you can count on (or want) for long term economizing. Glad you are feeling better … and I’m sure the shop owners are too ….
Hee! I’ll have to let my brother know about this blog entry.
