Stuff to do (or at least look at), for FREE. Because as we all know, free is BEST.
1. My buddy, Tundrababe (such an appropriate name for a Minnesotan), has a brand new blog. It’s a fun shopping/dreaming of shopping site, full of cool stuff she’s found online and in the stores. Oh hey, there’s a frugal tip for you – write and dream about shopping, instead of actually buying stuff. Think of the money you’d save! You’ll find Tundra here at Penny Jar Wishes.
2. If you want a Tudor gown from the Tudor Project, they are listed on The Accidental Seamstress’s eBay auction site. Buy a dress! Save a puppy! Support the Seamstress, aka my BFF Larue!
3. Speaking of cool shopping sites, brought to you by members of the Wench Posse, here are two more for your perusal. Yes, I understand the stuff on the sites aren’t free, but there’s no charge for looking, right?
a. Danger Kitty Designs Cozy Corset Cup Cozies. I have a fantastic Green Bay Packer cozy made by Kitty, aka Posse member code name Probie.
b. Potter’s Pottery. She makes the most amazing tiny pots and containers and ceramic pumpkins. As Potter always says, small fingers make small pots. I say, small pots are simply awesome, and take up less space on your shelves – so you can buy more!
4. My buddy Lis is over the moon for this band – Abney Park. Take a listen to one of their songs on YouTube (for free!), then scope out the band’s deets on their website, including info about their latest album, dropping soon (which will cost money! But not too much.).
5. If you want to listen to cool music, and watch the funniest damn show on YouTube, all at the same time, you’re in luck. Head on over to YouTube (after you’re done here, of course), and search for The Guild. You’ll love the zillion 5 minute episodes and the accompanying music video, Do You Want To Date My Avatar? However, be aware that this is the most addictive show in the history of ever, and may just suck up all your free time, as it has done to mine. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.
6. One last song and dance? Well kiddies, I saved the best for last – Glee. If you aren’t watching Glee on Fox (yes, my home station, but there’s no nepotism at work here), you are missing the best damn show on prime time TV. It is made of awesome, covered in unicorns, and dipped in rainbows and fairies. There’s song, there’s dance, there’s humor, and there’s totally hot guys on it. Do you need anything else?
Share with the group – what are you reading, watching, listening to this fall?

Season 3 of the Guild is on their website, with eps 3-6 on Felicia Day’s blog. AWESOME.
Also – thanks for the puppy/gown shout-out.
Reading your blog…got to the ‘my buddy Lis’ part, and thought, “Can she mean ME?” Question totally answered by the links to Abney Park! Thanks for promoting my guys…we need more AP fanatics in the world!!!
Thanks for the shout-out! I do feel kind of accomplished when I want something and then it gets bought out. Kind of sad too, though.
I’ve been listening to Regina Spektor, also watching Glee, and read stuff on the internet too much. I just saw this cheapskate blog on Time.com. It’s not as good as yours, but maybe you can find some more cheap deals, or get listed in the links section (mm-hmm!).
Yesterday (Oct. 13th), Vince Flynn’s newest novel, “Pursuit of Honor” was released. I can’t wait for my first opportunity to go get it. I’m a huge fan of this fantastic local guy/national bestselling mystery/thriller writer. A couple of seasons ago, he was a consultant on “24″ (my biggest tv addiction — love my Kiefer!). I look forward to curling up with Flynn’s latest thriller, spending some of my Fall on the edge of my seat.
