On the days I do my Fox 9 Morning Buzz segments, I like the accompanying post to be to the point and chock-a-block full of useful frugal information. No needless chit chat! No cutesy stories! Just the thrifty facts, ma’am.
Great Deals on Sporting Events
Minnesota High School Prep Bowl:
Semi-finals are this weekend, November 20 and 21 at the Metrodome. Tickets are just $12 for adults and $8 for students. Finals are November 27 and 28 at the Dome, and tickets are $12/$8 for the first day, $10/$7 for the second day, or you can buy a two-day pass for $18/$12. I’ll be rooting for Mounds View and Totino-Grace (because sadly, my alma mater didn’t make it. Again. Sigh. Go Spartans anyway!)
Call 763-560-2262 for more information.
Minnesota Timberwolves (aka, We’re Just Giving It Away Now That Garnett Is Gone):
Many discounts and promotions available on their website – http://www.nba.com/timberwolves/
All weekend games, Meal Deal – $17 includes ticket, hot dog, chips and a soda. Family Meal Deal – $65 includes 4 tickets, 4 hot dogs, 4 chips and 4 sodas.
Every Sunday home game, Crunch’s Kids Day – “Each Sunday game this season is a Crunch’s Kids Day game, where kids 12 and under get a free upper-level ticket with any paid adult ticket. Kids will also be treated to a skyway full of fun games, poster making, inflatable basketball games, etc.”
Every Wednesday home game, College Night – “Every Wednesday night at Target Center is College Night! College Night tickets are available for only $5 each. Plus, if you are one of the first 100 students to show up at Target Center, you will be upgraded to the Wolf Pack section in the lower level for FREE. All you have to do is show up at the college night table in the main ticket lobby and your tickets will be upgraded. Be there between 5:30 and 7 PM to secure your upgrade to the Wolf Pack section.”
4 Wednesday night home games, Ladies Night – For only $20, you get a lower level ticket, a beer, wine, or soda, and a hot dog. Next Ladies Night is TONIGHT when the Wolves play Houston.
Minnesota Vikings:
Concession Voucher available from Ticket Master – buy 2 tickets to see the Vikings, and receive a FREE $20 concession voucher. One voucher per every 2 tickets you buy. Details available at www.ticketmaster.com.
Ticket Brokers:
Buy or sell your tickets and season tickets online. Great deals available for higher priced sporting events like Vikings and The Wild. Here are the sites I personally clicked all over, just to make sure they had good deals. Yup, I’m a giver
www.vividseats.com, tickets available for Sunday’s game vs. Seattle, low as $15 for the Upper Level Corners.
www.stubhub.com, tickets available for Seattle game, as low as $15 for a single end zone ticket (Hurry! This single seat might be gone by now!)
www.ticketexchangebyticketmaster.com, slightly more expensive than the other two, but does offer the comfort and security of a well-known name in the ticket sales industry.
www.ticketkingonline.com, also more expensive than the first two, but they have an actual bricks-n-mortar location where you pick up your tickets. The Innerwebs are fine, but sometimes you want a real life storefront to visit.
So there you go. Plenty of excuses to cheer on our great state’s many and varied sporting teams. Unless you’re like me, and your team is the Green Bay Packers – who despite they’re lack of defense AND offense, managed to serve it to my least favorite team, the Dallas Cowboys.
