You guys and your useful emails! You’re like my very own Really Useful Crew. I’ll just call you Thomas, okay?
I know I’m supposed to update you all with my Weekly Spending Recap, with the Eye Candy for dessert. But! I keep getting notifications from various and sundry folk about great deals and events in the TC. Far be it from me to keep this info from you, right? So I won’t. Here you go!
From Jennifer at Simply Savings.com comes this email:
“Here’s another cool freebie for you– now through December 26th you can get free batteries at Staples! All you have to do is buy 1 package of 20 Duracell batteries for $12.99 and you get $12.99 in Staples Rewards. Staples Rewards can be used to buy things in their stores that you may need. My favorite part about this deal is that you can use manufacturer coupons at Staples to make a profit on the batteries!”
I’m even starting to get emails from public relations companies. Ah… the power of the Empire is growing…
“Here is info on a sample sale that I think would be of interest to your audience. The jewelry is gorgeous and the deals are amazing!
Sequin and Badgley Mischka Jewelry Sample Sale: Fabulous costume jewelry sold at Henri Bendel, Nordstrom, Neiman Marcus, Bloomingdales and national fine specialty stores. Jewelry will be 50 percent to 80 percent off retail prices. Retail prices range from $40 to $500. Great for holiday parties and holiday gifts! Cash accepted.
International Market Square, 275 Market Street, Suite 436. Thursday, December 3, 2009, 11 am until 7:00 pm; Friday, December 4, 2009, 11 am until 7 pm; Saturday, December 4, 2009, 10 am until 3 pm.
About Sequin: Minnesota natives, sisters Linda and Kim Renk are designers and owners of New York based fashion jewelry line Sequin. Sequin also develops, creates and manufactures jewelry under the Badgely Mischka label. The jewelry is a favorite of fashion and celebrity stylists. It has been featured in magazines such as Vogue, Elle, Women’s Wear Daily, Town & Country, People Style Watch, OK and many others.”
And from our Cheap Chick Empire Security Officer (my buddy, Probie) comes this cool couponing site:
Groupon.com. Here’s how it works, according to the site – “Each day we feature something cool to do at an unbeatable price. You only get it if enough people join that day… so invite your friends. Check back the next day for another awesome Groupon.”
Um. That’s not very explanatory, is it? My advice is to check out the FAQ section, invite your friends to join, and start saving! The thing I like the best about the site is that it bills itself as a savings collective. I always wanted to be part of a collective…
One last goodie, from my BFF HaC:
A Turkish Affair, featuring gorgeous merchandise like jewelry and rugs and scarves and what-have-you, at LOW prices. (BTW, their website isn’t the most useful place, so be sure to visit the store in person to do your shopping.) It’s located on the 46th and Chicago Ave shopping area in Minneapolis, and HaC swears by it for awesome, inexpensive birthday/holiday gifts. If I’ve been a good Cheap Chick, I may even get a wee gift from their, too. HINT.
Thank you for all your really useful emails full of thrifty deals and frugal finds – so much better than “shunting cars and hauling freight.”
But Wait! There’s MORE…
