Me: Alright, kids! Let’s get crackalackin’ on today’s post – a scintillating, hard-hitting companion piece to our Fox 9 Morning Buzz segment.
Myself: How is ‘Getting Glam For Less’ hard-hitting? Aren’t we supposed to be the light and fluffy news anyway?
I: Mmm…fluffy… do we have any more of those homemade marshmallows left from Christmas?
Myself: No, our stupid Big Brother totally bogarted the bag. And Ma ate all the peppermint bark. We’re down to our last few Hershey’s Kisses.
Me: People! KEEP ON TASK. We need to sustain our journalistic integrity and give the masses what they need – thrifty hair care and clothing tips.
I: Speaking of hair, I think our stylist used a different highlighting color this time. We look more golden today. Mmm…golden…I could go for some Tator Tots right about now…
Myself: God, no wonder we don’t fit into half our clothes. Starting tomorrow, it’s back to brown rice and veggies for us.
Me: GAH!!! Will you quit nattering about nothing?!?! Today’s post won’t write itself, you know.
I: That would be SO COOL if it did – sort of like a ghost writer, but we wouldn’t have to split the profits.
Myself: What profits? We don’t get paid to do this gig. That’s something we need to work on in the New Year. Oooo, that, and getting on the Oprah Winfrey Show before it goes off air.
Me: That is IT. Are you going to help me write today’s post or not? Or do I have to open a can of whoop-ass on you people.
Myself: What do you mean, ‘you people?’ Besides, I could totally take you.
I: Ugh, chillax you two. It’s not like anyone has the time to read the Interwebs today. They’re all too busy getting ready to get down.
Me: But what about our post? What about the companion piece? The people have the right to know where to get a good deal on hair extensions and cute shoes!
Myself: True. Let’s post it tomorrow. That way the people can use our tips to get glam in the New Year, and not just New Year’s Eve.
I: See, now, I think we should write a ‘Looking Back At The Year That Was’ post. You know, one of those Year In Review thingamabobs everyone cranks out by December 31st.
Myself: Bleah. I am SO OVER 2009. AND those Year In Review articles. AND those stupid Best/Worst Lists – how many 10 Things About Nothing do the American people need? Let’s just write 2009 off as a loss and move on.
Me: For once, I agree. All in favor of posting today’s post tomorrow and skipping the year in review post altogether?
