That describes the depth of my posts, I feel. Much like the tides, they surge toward greatness, then recede to commonplace.
Yeah, so, okay. I was sick this weekend. I know you guys get bored to death with the posts about my health, but here is why I write them – my health affects my ability to deliver a Cheap Chick-worthy article. If I feel like ‘Death Is Approaching, Call In The Priest,’ I tend to lose that happy creative frugality you’ve grown accustom to. And my resulting posts are an exercise in bitchy crankiness. NO ONE WANTS THAT.
Ergo, I tend to write something mildly entertaining about my illness, and then go somewhere quiet to recuperate (i.e. wail and holler where no one can here me). So thank you for hanging in there this weekend, and I hope my near-death experience didn’t annoy you too much. Now, on with the frugality!
It’s (the day after) Monday, and that means it’s time for my Weekly Spending Recap. I’m afraid I’ve mislaid a receipt or two, but I’ve reconstructed my expenditures as best as I could. Sufficive to say, my spending for last week was much lighter than the spending the week before (thank GOD).
That Which I Spent Last Week, Perhaps (btw, I’ll be auditioning new names for the Recap throughout the month of January. Pick which one you like the best.):
Sunday, January 3
Holiday Station on Hwy 100, gas for the guzzler, $20
Monday, January 4
Cub Foods, back to reality (i.e. nutritious and low-fat) grocery shopping, $25.46
Tuesday, January 5
Nothing, because it was too cold to go outside.
Wednesday, January 6
Ditto. Still so cold I thought I’d DIE.
Thursday, January 7
Holiday Station on Hwy 100 (yes, again), gas for the guzzler in a vain attempt to make it to Fox 9 on time for my segment, $15.04
Maverick’s Roast Beef, consolation lunch for when I was late and missed said segment, $13.00
McDonalds, Happy Meal dinner (still consoling myself with food), $3.12
Friday, January 8
Post Office, stamps for my overdue bills, $8.80
Saturday, January 9
Burger King, breakfast (I was up really early, so don’t judge me), $3.89
Walgreens, random household supplies, $11.54
Sunday, January 10
Nothing AGAIN! Probably because I felt like death…
Weekly Total: $100.85. I may have thought my insides were going to end up on the outside, but hey! I sure didn’t spend much last week. So there’s that.
Whenever I’m feeling unwell, or tired, or bored, or… anything at all, I like to look at pictures of attractive men. Scantily clad is best, but any hot man will do:

Christian Kane, formerly of Angel and currently of Leverage is NOT any old hot man. He is uber hawt, whether he is kicking bad-guy ass on his new TNT show, or singing:

Yes. He sings. He’s hot, he kicks ass, he SINGS. If he were taller, he’d be PERFECT. And, I did like him better with short hair. However, he’s so filled with masculinity, he can carry off the long locks, too.

Glad to see ya around these parts again, Erin. For what it’s worth, it doesn’t bore the Cheez Wiz outta me to read about how ill you may feel or your health in general. You always make it a wee bit humorous, intentional or not. I know that, eventually, you’ll get back to your “normal” postings. Besides, *life happens*.
Before I forget, that you had a HAPPY Meal to CONSOLE yourself, cracks me up. I hope it helped lift your spirits, besides filling your stomach. Hey, what toy did ya get?
