Like these people. These people are kicking ass and taking names.
Today I’d like to celebrate just a few of the people who are making my day, much like a Clint Eastwood movie, but with less shooting and mayhem. First up, I recently (like, five seconds ago) updated my Links Page to include some new and fabulous folk. I’ve also added some amazing online shops for your perusal and spending pleasure. The newest links are bolded and are as follows:
Clockwork Couture – a cool and funky clothing site. Great for costuming pieces as well as regular wear. Best of all, they offer The World’s Greatest Costumer Service In The History Of The Internet And Beyond. Seriously.
Plush Nest – My friend Peggy’s fun and inexpensive home decorating site. As a theater gal, she has an eye for simple things that make a huge impact. For cheap, of course.
Sock Dreams – the best online sock shop. They have everything you need to stylishly cover your feet and arms. Better still, shipping is always FREE. Best still, the co-owner is HAWT.
What I Wore Today – the personal style blog I keep raving about. Because it’s that awesome.
Also awesome are the emails you guys send me, like the one I received from Stephanie at How Does She Do It. Stephanie sent me, free of charge, the coolest budget tool/spreadsheet for tracking my spending. If you leave a comment about it in the Comments section, I’ll forward a copy to you. Sure beats using pieces of scratch paper or the back of an envelope…
My Stunt Girl* sent me an invitation to join Beyond The Rack (salacious name, no?), a private online shopping club. Here’s what they have to say for themselves: “As a member, you’ll have access to top designer brand fashions and accessories at up to 70% off retail prices. Each designer brand event lasts from two to four days. When an event is over the items can no longer be purchased. Our inventory is available on a first-come, first-served basis, so be sure to shop early.” Thank you, Stunt Girl! In all ways, you make my frugal life easier.
Do you want to be awesome today? Sure you do! Then please, take some of your hard-earned cash and make a donation to the relief funds in Haiti. Every little bit helps, and if everyone helped a little bit, it would make a huge difference.
*As you know, I have a Stunt Girl, F’Oh, who handles all my scary and difficult frugal feats of daring-do. I also have a Stunt Double, Chum, who fills in for me (and vise versa) when I can’t make it to whatever I need to make it to. There are other official members of the Cheap Chick Empire, to include our Chancellor of Cheap (Dan), our Mistress of the Sewing Machine (Larue), and our Chief Safety Officer (Danger Kitty).
If you would like an official appointment to the Empire, please let me know what it is and what your proposed title would be in the Comments. We’ll have an appointment ceremony (imaginary, of course) next week.

I found you through Thrifty Decor Chick! Please fwd that item, thank you.
For my title, I’ll take Goddess of the Grommeter. Also, if you could send me the budget spreadsheet Stephanie sent you, that would be awesome.

I would love an appointment but am still working on my title. would have to be something to do with my amazing thrift store finds. perhaps your marketing people could whip up a title for me?
Thanks, Erin! I’ve got my 2010 budget workbook all put together. I copied the spreadsheet a bunch of times onto different worksheets so that I have 12 all together. I hope it’s helpful! My friend Mary passed it on to me and so far it’s been just amazing.
Hey all- glad you like my spreadsheet! Nine months of unemployment left me lots of time to futz with Excel. Happy budgeting!!
Erin, I would love to get a copy of the budget spreadsheet. Sounds like something I could get good use out of.
Thanks!

Hi Erin. I am always looking for new ideas how to
document the spending/costs. Please send a copy of the spreadsheet. My next question. Any ideas how do I can save it on my computer and not just in e-mail? ( Windows Vista) Thanks so much!
