What We Get Up To In Our Spare Time

So, I went bowling with my friends this weekend…

…dressed as a bridal party.  As one does.  As it was my birthday party, I got to be the bride:

That’s our King, Nels, playing the roll of Big Mama.  We sort of all patterned ourselves after a whacked-out, amped-up version of Steel Magnolias.  AS ONE DOES.

Cost of bowling – $3.99 per game.  Cost of rental shoes – $2.99 per pair.  Expressions on the faces of the patrons at Tuttles Bowling Alley in Hopkins – priceless.  Free lesson learned – life is more fun if you dress up for it.

I wouldn’t say patterned ourselves. I would say it just sort of happened. Which was fun anyway. I had a lovely time being Crazy Aunt Irma with my Disco Hair….

    And you made a lovely bride…. sniff…

Also? Make sure your outfit isn’t so vintage that it falls apart as you start bowling. Just an FYI.

Too dang awesome!! :-D Next time, I say, why not go bowling dressed as the cast of the “Flintsones”? Hee-hee…. I *love* your guys’ and gals’ creativity, originality, and plain ol’ spunk. Why be like everyone else and dress “normal”? Just dress. LOL

May I also add that it’s always more fun with A LOT of friends doing this! And, so far, my SIL, my cousin and my friend since we were wee, Megan, ALL want in on an upcoming excursion! Can I just say, we are AWESOME! And our ringleader takes the cake! (Birthday joke-hehehe)

Thanks, Renee, for the correction. :-) Dangnabbit, I need new glasses. Or better detail orientation. Ugh! LOL So, ya think Erin should be Wilma, Betty, or Anne Margrock? Hee-hee….

Oh Kathleen, I am the token redhead in the group. I get to be Wilma. Erin gets to play the Eva Gabor guest star. Heh.
