This Saturday is May 1, a date for some of you signifying spring/awakenings/rebirth/other-new-to-you-stuff. For me it means the start of my latest and greatest shopping challenge… which is really just a reboot of my first shopping challenge, back in ‘07/’08.
Except! And also, however! I’ve given the new challenge a really cool name! And it starts on a completely new and different date! And I’ve made it both easier and harder! Otherwise, yeah, it’s just the same thing all over again. Is it cheating if I copy myself? Whatever, here’s the super-nift name:
Shopping May-hem – The $25 Or Less, May ’10 to May ’11 Shopping Challenge.
What do you think? Do you like it? Or is it replete with lameness? Either way, I’m keeping it, as it is easier to type ‘Shopping May-hem’ than ‘The $25 Or Less Blah Blah Blah BLAH’ over and over again. And as you know, I am nothing if not supremely lazy.
I’ll have the rules and regs posted this Saturday – in case you’d like to play along for a week, a month, the whole freaking year. In the meantime, this challenge reboot is making me nervous. I’ve enjoyed buying whatever the heck I’ve wanted this last 18+ months (not that I DID, I just liked knowing I COULD) and damn the consequences. Now I’m accountable to the blogosphere to keep my word. No pressure or anything…
In an effort to relax, I’m going to gaze into the middle distance at something soothing:

Ahhhhh, Robert Downey, Jr. is always a calming influence. Unless I met him in real life. In which case, my blood pressure would skyrocket as I strove to fling myself upon him, drag him away to a secluded area, and HAVE MY WAY WITH HIM.
Note: The Cheap Dude is well aware of my adoration of RDJ. He always points out that the object of my lust is at least 2-3 inches shorter than I. “He’s so LITTLE. He’d barely come up to your shoulder,” sayeth the Dude, stretching himself up to his full 6-foot, non-RDJ height. What. Ever. I don’t care if I could carry him in my pocket… mmmm… Let me reflect on that happy thought, while you reflect on this:

Questioning the Empire – what new challenges are you nervous about beginning? Why for? And does looking at Robert make you feel any better?

Looking at RDJ always makes me feel better. The man can wear a tank top like nobody’s business. Once “Sherlock Holmes” hits the DVD, I’ll probably pause on “that scene” with him in the hotel room and gaze upon him for quite awhile. Heavy sigh…
RDJ — Woohoooo!!!
THANK you, Cheap Chick — for a few moments, I forgot all about Kiefer. A good thing?
Challenges? Still clawing my way out of unemployment. Nervous? A little. But determined and tenacious. And yuppers, gazing upon Mr. RDJ helps me chill and feel much better!!
