Just nod if you can hear me… is there anybody home?
Today is Saturday – a typically slow day in the blogging world. I thought I’d use this day to my advantage and conduct a wee blogger experiment. I’m going to post a post that is 100% reliant on You-The-Reader’s participation, and see how many responses I get. That way, I’ll have an idea if there truly IS anyone in here (the Interwebs) on the weekends.
Ready to play along? Let’s begin:
1. Here is your chance to ask me any question you’ve ever pondered about the Cheap Chick. Ask me anything – my shoe size, what I eat for breakfast, how much money I’m willing to spend on deli meat, anything…
2. …As long as that ‘anything’ isn’t vulgar. We’re grown-ups in the Empire, for the most part, so it shouldn’t be too hard to act like one. And remember, I reserve the right to behead online trolls and spike their remains on the castle walls. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.
3. The reader with the best question will win a prize! I will ask my inner council (i.e. my sister-in-law and my 3 best-friends-forever) which question they deem the most worthy, and THAT lucky reader will win a $20 gift card to my homeland. Target, of course.
4. You’ll have until midnight on Monday, May 17th to post your questions in the Comments. We will pick the winner during the week, and I’ll post the lucky reader’s name on Friday, May 21st.
So there you go – my first “I Wonder If Anyone Is Paying Attention” Contest. Does anyone have a question for me?

What song do you sing in the shower?
If your head were made of veal, how much do you think it would be worth?
What was your favorite Saturday morning program when you were growing up?
Ok, I have one for you. Last night we were watching TV when an ad for Suave hair care products came on. I often wonder if there products are as good as professional products, like they claim. It would seem to me that all shampoo is alike in that it strips dirt and oil from your hair, and all conditioners add wax to your hair. The rest is marketing. So, what has been your experience with hair care products? How many products have you tried? What do you find works for you and your Cheap Chick ways, without sacrificing hair health?
What is the best way to feed your family healthy food and still be thrifty? It seems that organic and whole grains cost more than the less healthy food.
Can you really see me nod when I hear you?
Are you “crazy” cheap like I am? Are there certain things you won’t buy unless you can get them on-sale? I have a list of things I want or need, but refuse to purchase until they are on sale.
What products do you use for cleaning? Is it better to spend a few extra $$ for something you know will always work for you or spend less on something that doesn’t always do the job? I have my favorites & use coupons for them instead of using generic cheapies.
BTW, I am surprised my children weren’t born in a Target store – it is paradise!!
What did you do before you got big and famous? I’ve been following along and I swear I remember your very first time you were going to be on Fox 9…but I can’t remember what you did in your previous life…
What’s the most amount of money you’ve ever spend on a re-do project?
Ok, you are a gorgous women, fun, and funny, why aren’t you with boyfriend or married yet? PS I ask this question to myself too… but i met you about 2 weeks ago, and you are so awesome. Let me know, Karebear
I literally just found your blog, so I don’t have a lot of background! I feel like I am taking a pop quiz without any preperation! EEk, but I also enjoy me some target, so comment I must! If you have covered this question in your blog already, I apologize.
What is the one product that you have to have so bad that you are willing to pay full price for it. No. matter. what.? Whether it be something for your home or a brand of laundry detergent. Anything. Spill the beans! I am off to put this page on my favorites so I can stalk you regularly
In your opinion, what is the best thing about living in the Twin Cities, instead of elsewhere?
If time travel were possible, would you want to visit the past or the future, and what event/person would you most like to visit?
Do you put the toilet paper roll on the holder over or under?
What was your favorite childhood toy?
If you woke up in an alternate reality where Target did not exsist what would you do?
I just bought my first home
. Always lived with the parents, well for the most part. Whats your best advice for clipping coupons and organizing them so that they actually get used and don’t just sit in an envelope forever. I will be on a pretty tight budget! I’m a full time working mom so time saving is key. Do you find it worth the time to really sit through the ads and find the best deals and then drive to those stores with the best deals? Any advice on the topic would be helpful. lol
I can’t think of any questions really……
Oh! What is your exact face/make-up routine? (with products and such)
How long have you and the mister been dating now? Do you think there might be a chance for wedding bells?
Since I won the last sweet Target card (and doubt my questions are all that engaging anyway) I really just wanted to drop in and say I’m still reading!

ONE SIMPLE QUESTION: WHAT IS THE ONE SMALL THING THAT HAPPENS IN YOUR LIFE THAT A-L-W-A-Y-S MAKES YOU SMILE? (YES, THERE ARE SOME OF US ON THE BLOGS ON THE WEEKEND…THAT IS WHEN I FOUND YOU!)
Do you believe buying of of Craigslist and refinishing furniture is better than “making do with what you’ve got?” I’ve been refinishing, but now it’s getting out of hand, and I think Craigslist (and freebay) maybe where junkies go…. to get more and more stuff…
If you were given a big bag of money, (How big, you may ask? Millions. Enough to not have to worry how you will support your Target addiction and buy all the fancy fabrics you could ever dream to buy)…would you still live by your thrifty and frugal habits? Or would your new wealth change your spending ways?
I know we all love saving money and getting a deal–which is why we’re reading the Cheap Chick, after all. But here’s my question–if you had unlimited funds and money were no object at all, would you do anything differently? Would you move to a new house or travel or go back to school or [insert dream deferred here], or would your life stay pretty much the same?
Question: Do you use Google Analytics for your site? It’s free, and would let you know how many people are visiting your site on any given day (and what sites they get to yours through, or what web search terms bring them to you, etc.). I highly recommend it.
How far are you willing to drive to shop at a Target? Luckily, we Minnesotans have many locations to choose from, being the Motherland is based here. But some folks live a loooong way from the beloved Bullseye. Sure, you could order from Target.com. But it doesn’t replace the full in-store experience.
Do you have any furbabies, a.k.a. pets? If so, how do you keep expenses down? We have a F.I.V. positive cat that wandered up and he tends to get sick more often than any other cat we have had. Thus, more vet visits and expensive shots/meds.
