Cooper Rocks!
Many fabulous people have helped The Cheap Chick Empire throughout the years, and one of the best and coolest people to give me a hand up is Cooper Lawrence. So I was THRILLED when I saw she had a new book out – The Yoga Club. Dudes, you should all go buy it now and then read it and then say awesome things about it.
Why? Because Cooper is an amazing writer. And? A vastly entertaining person. So it’s worth your time and money. Cooper Lawrence! She is Cheap Chick Approved.

Lazy Monday
Dudes, I am soooooo slacktacular today. And I have no excuse, either, as I barely moved my butt from the couch yesterday. So it’s not like I wore myself out this weekend…
In keeping with my extreme laziness, I’ve decided to let the denizens of the Empire write today’s post for me. Yay, exploiting the masses! Here are the frugally things other people want you to know about:
From Trina at A Simpler Life, Inc. come these faboo deals – “I want to take a moment to let you know about a special I am running through the end of summer. If you schedule regular cleaning, weekly or every other week, after you have had three cleanings you will receive 10% off your next 3 cleanings! Call or email to receive a free quote, and get on the books today. Void with any other offer; new clients only.
“If you sign a 6 month contract you will receive a 10% discount each month. If you sign a 12 month contract you will receive a 15% discount each month. Void with any other offer; new or existing clients. You will receive a bill the end of every month letting you know your discount.
“Both these offers are valid until August 31, 2010, and this is an excellent way to give yourself simply more time. Enjoy the weather, or your time with your family, friends or co-workers. Weekends were not meant for cleaning – that is what A Simpler Life is here for! Call today at 612-865-6002 or email info@asimplerlifeinc.com for more information.”
From my favorite PR lady, Sarah, here’s the 411 on Operation Glass Slipper’s latest and greatest sale – “Operation Glass Slipper Hosts Dress Sale at Marriott West in St. Louis Park. Prom, Special Occasion Styles Available in All Sizes.
“Operation Glass Slipper, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing free prom gowns and accessories to high school girls in the Twin Cities, announces it will host a sale at the Marriott West in St. Louis Park to give the public the opportunity to purchase dresses and accessories from its excess inventory. All proceeds benefit Operation Glass Slipper.
“Thousands of dresses in various styles, from all-occasion to bridesmaid and mother-of-the bride, will be on sale from $5 to $20. Wedding dresses and a variety of flower girl dresses will also be available as well as handbags, shoes, jewelry and other accessories. This is a cash and credit card-only sale. No personal checks will be accepted.
“All money raised will be used to support Operation Glass Slipper in its mission to outfit local teens with prom attire. The organization will also accept donations of dresses, jewelry, shoes and accessories at this sale. Friday, June 25: 2 to 7 p.m., Saturday, June 26: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Sunday, June 27: noon to 4 p.m. Marriott West, 9960 Wayzata Blvd, St. Louis Park, MN 55426, (952) 544-4400, www.operationglassslipper.org.”
And last, but not least, something completely different from local favorite, Bibelot. Guess what? Okay, I won’t make you guess, I’ll just tell you. Bibelot is getting into the consignment biz. Here are the deets – “BIBELOT REWEAR INFORMATION:
“The Como Avenue Bibelot will accept for resale like new, current clothing for women under the following conditions: Clothing that will be considered includes dresses, pants, skirts, blouses/shirts as well as coats, sweaters & shorts in sizes 4-14 and/or XS-XL. “Spring/summer clothing will be accepted from January 2 – May 31. Fall/winter clothing will be accepted from June 1 – November 15. We will accept up to 12 pieces of clothing at a time. Please do understand if your items are not accepted for resale. No discounts may be used on REWEAR merchandise. All REWEAR clothing is a final sale.”
I’d like to thank the fine ladies of the Empire for doing my job for me. Keep up the good work! So I can continue to be the Laziest Person You Know.
