Mr. Gore (aka My Secret Boyfriend) has been taking a beating lately. What with the impending divorce and the hotel massage scandal, the guy probably wouldn’t mind a kind word or two. Well, here are 7 of them – “Thank you for inventing the Internet, Al.” It is a very handy tool in The Cheap Chick’s arsenal of savings.
Whilst perusing the WWW, I found this gem for my fellow Twin Citians: Half Off Twin Cities.com. They have gift certificates for a whole slew of restaurants, activities, and services, available for purchase at – wait for it – HALF OFF.
And while you’re driving to these various restaurants, activities, and/or services, save on gas by checking which stations have the best prices in the TC. Twin Cities Gas Prices.com tells you the lowest gas prices available in the last 24 hours. They even break it out by type of gas – regular, premium, diesel, etc.
But what about all you non-Minnesota folks? I shouldn’t play favorites, right? For the rest of the Empire, here’s a handy little site that reviews all sorts of unnecessary products. Forewarned is forearmed, especially when you’re faced with an Impulse Buy. Granted, the most frugal course of action is to simply not make impulsive purchases. However, I understand it happens to the best of us from time to time. No judgement.
One impulse buy many of us fall victim to is unnecessary snack food. In an effort to help you snack better, and possibly cheaper, I’m proud to recommend Second Rate Snacks. Essentially, these intreped souls compare knock-off snacks to the original (or “real”) snacks, with tasty/terrifying results.
Yes, there really is a web site about absolutely every topic imaginable. Well done, Al Gore!
Thank Goodness For Gore
