Hi I am a 35 yr old sahm and am very new to the frugal lifestyle. My husband was military and we never worried about money til now. But after being wounded and labeled non deployable he was medically retired so now we are having to live on a tight budget while I look for a job to bring in extra income. We are in ky and I am having a hard time finding other like minded frugal people.

I am a St. Paul girl through and through although I’ve been kidnapped into western Wisconsin. I listen to FM107.1 religiously and would watch theBuzz if I wasn’t at work. I’m Holly, aka Stuntgirl. I believe I first heard about The Cheap Chick on Kevyn Berger’s fm 107.1 show (sadly, no longer on the air… which is a major bummer). I had to check out the site because I used to be called the cheapest girl anyone ever knew, and I had to size up the competition. Once I started reading, I was hooked by the humor AND the thriftiness. And the eye-candy. I’m still visiting the blog because the longer it is around, the more people are sending in tips, so now we’re hearing about discounts that one person alone might not have been able to collect. And that, my thrifty friends, is a beautimous thing.

Random thing for today: I had an assignment to write a poem personifying a household object. I wrote a poem about the toilet and how my dad has a special bond with it. You think I am talking about my grnadpa until the last line (jiggle the handle and encourage him to flush). And it got published. And my dad hadn’t read it until the awards ceremony, which he attended with me. It was his most embarrassing moment ever.

I am Carol N. and from Alabama. Have never been to the TC and am not even really sure where that is (my lack of geographical knowledge is a constant amazement to hubby). I found your link on another blog that I read and have been coming back ever since for the frugal tidbits (and for the long lost Monday man beefcake – ha!) Being thrifty lets me spend on my hobbies and I’m always looking for some kind of new way to out-frugal my husband. Plus you are funny and refreshing, proving that you don’t have to be grumpy when you are saving money. Randomness? I like to cook and have a huge collection of cookbooks that I read like novels. I love to read, needlepoint and find a good furniture bargain that I can turn into something wonderful with paint.

I first heard about this site on Cooper Lawrence’s radio show (which, alas, is no longer broadcast in the Twin Cities, grrrr), and have been a fan ever since of Erin’s frugally goodness, fun, and high-sterical and thought-provoking goings-on herein.

I’m Tashi, and I have too much time on my hands, whilst I look for a new job. But I try to see the silver lining in everything as best as I can, and so I can’t complain too much. At least I have more time to read Cheap Chick’s writing!

I’m into frugalness, especially nowadays when my resources are slimmer than ever. I love reading cookbooks and watching Food Network, anxious for when I can buy any stuff I want and cook it up whenever I want to. But frugalness has necessitated my greater dedication to creativity and imagination with what I have (and I’m grateful for what I *do* have). I’m luckier than some, and very blessed, so I’ve been ok. Every time I read this blog, or one of my few other faves, it makes my day a little bit groovier, and I forget for a moment that I don’t get a paycheck every other Friday. Oh, and for randomness?? I looooove Target Field!!!! Hee-hee. I could live there if they let me.

Hey, Im a random blog thru…hahahaha, i just stopped here and burst out laughing when I read this so had to comment of course. My friend has a blog and she has links, I checked her link and then checked another and another (its a sick little game)..I have spent the last 25 years being thrifty, frugal etc, raised three kids, 25, 18 and 16…and well, it fascinates me that when I was being frugal it was so uncool and now. well cool to the max. So I love your humor and now am favoriting you forever….

I’m Shan, and as The CC says, I’m a constant (or semi-constant) reader. I’m responsible for the dietary needs of 57 Sisters of the Order of St. Benedict. Seeing that I’m being paid by the church and have a teenage daughter, being thrifty is a necessity. The thrift stores in my area are a good resource for clothing (for me, not my teenage daughter, what are you kidding?) and other household items. I like to come here for the frugally tippiness and for The CC’s always entertaining commentary ()

One afternoon on the bus ride home, I watched a man eat 20 marshmallow Peeps in a 10 minute period. It was poetry in motion seeing him savor every bite.
On the second bus, he busted out the Taco Bell. Now that was just plain wrong.
