Coupons.com’s Most Frugal Cities of 2011
Coupons.com recently released their list of The Most Frugal U.S. Cities, set forth by their 2011 Savings Index. According to Coupon.com’s press release, the Savings Index ranks cities – with a population of 300,000 or more – based on each city’s total issued coupon savings, including coupons printed and saved to store loyalty cards, on the Coupons.com site and the Coupons.com network in 2011, relative to the city’s population size.
Atlanta comes in at number one for the Most Frugal City, and three other southern cities also ranked in the top 10. However, the Midwest holds nine spots on the list of 25 cities, including Minneapolis, which came in seventh. That means the Midwest took home more than one-third of the spots on the overall list, beating out the South, the Northeast and the West.
The 10 top frugal cities are Atlanta (#1), Tampa(#2), St. Louis (#3), Cincinnati (#4), Raleigh (#5), Cleveland (#6),Minneapolis (#7), Oklahoma City (#8), Kansas City (#9), Nashville (#10).
Coupons.com also ranked the country’s Most On-the-Go Frugal Cities, once again, according to their Savings Index. The Most On-the-Go Frugal U.S. Cities ranking is based on the usage of Coupons.com’s Grocery iQ and the Coupons.com mobile apps. Folks around the country can use the apps to access, browse, print and save coupons to store loyalty cards, according to the Index.
Minneapolis came in at number 19 on the Most On-the-Go Frugal Cities.
