Show Your Love For Less

You don’t have to break the bank, to express your love.  Here are some fun activities to celebrate in style, for less.

Feast on a Prix Fixe Dinner

Open Table.com has an extensive list of Twin Cities restaurants offering set Valentine’s Day dinners, often at a discount.  EX: Bar Abilene – $45 for appetizer, dinner and dessert for two, plus two glasses of Prosecco.

TOP TIP 1:  Call the restaurant to confirm the deal, the food being offered, and that they received your reservation.  Don’t just rely on a website.

TOP TIP 2:  If you don’t see a deal being offered at the restaurant you want to visit, call them.  They may have a Valentine’s Day special that’s not being widely advertised.  Or, they may put something together, just for you and your sweetie.

Snuggle up for a Movie

This Thursday night at the Mall of America is Horror for the Holidays!  They show holiday-themed horror movies for just $5 a ticket.  EX: Showing My Bloody Valentine 3D at 7:30 on the 13th.

For the non-horror movie lovers, the Theatre’s Skybar will be offering drink deals and sweet treats from 6:30 to 8:30 on Valentine’s Eve.

    Where I Thrift

Everyone has their favorite thrift stores, right?  Okay, you do if you love thrifting as much as I do!  Here are the stores where I enjoy popping tags:

Saver’s in Bloomington – close proximity to Prestigious West Bloomington and Edina equals excellent, higher end thrift scores.  Remember, if you donate?  You receive a 20% off coupon you can use right away!

Saver’s in Columbia Heights – it’s the nearest thrift store to my house, and they have the NICEST staff of any Saver’s in the TC, in my humble opinion.

ARC Value Village – For me, ARC is hit or miss.  I either score BIG, or leave empty-handed.  Either way, I always enjoy perusing this tidy, friendly shop.
